~Two cats clawing at the keys, taking turns, buzzing from warm beers in the Saturday afternoon quiet of a school room. Pablo’s dreamy harp is mellow while floral with a unique percussive use of the sustain pedal that gives the piano a listless breath. Counterpoint to Guinan’s skronky-tonk that walks the tight rope of an under-practiced student, nearly dropping off the piece entirely before harnessing that haphazard velocity to catapult in a new direction. These two may have more technical prowess on other instruments, however, both have accessed the particular dreamland of piano playing.
